To promote trust and confidence in the work of MAP we focus on the efficient and wise stewardship of the funds raised for our development and humanitarian aid programme. We ensure that funds are directed to appropriate projects and that we comply with international regulations. MAP has a comprehensive project approval and control process which is implemented in line with best practice and guidance from standards associations.

HUMANITARIAN ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNERSHIP - HAP INTERNATIONAL
MAP has been a member of the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP International) since 2005. The mission of HAP International is to make humanitarian action accountable to its intended beneficiaries through self-regulation, compliance verification and quality assurance certification.
As members of HAP International, MAP continues to provide, monitor and independently evaluate our humanitarian assistance on an impartial basis, with respect to the expressed needs, concerns and dignity of beneficiary communities. Our overall aim is to support appropriate humanitarian and emergency assistance to Palestinians through partnership with Palestinian organisations and in coordination and collaboration with other humanitarian stakeholders.
Accountability Principles:
· Respect and promote the rights of legitimate humanitarian claimants
· Commitment to humanitarian standards and rights
· Set, communicate and build capacity for our humanitarian assistance standards
· Inform beneficiaries about these standards, and their right to be heard
· Meaningfully involve beneficiaries in project planning, implementation, evaluation and reporting
· Demonstrate compliance with the standards that apply in our humanitarian assistance work through monitoring and reporting
· Enable beneficiaries and staff to make complaints and to seek redress in safety
· Implement these principles when working through partner agencies.

ASSOCIATION FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AGENCIES - AIDA
AIDA is the network representing over 80 international non-governmental organisations working in the occupied Palestinian territory, across sectors including education, health, human rights, water and sanitation. As part of AIDA, MAP works in cooperation with other international agencies to ensure greater accountability within the donor community and increased aid effectiveness. Until 2010, MAP chaired the AIDA Health Committee, which coordinates initiatives and information share on key issues affecting the health sector.

BOND - FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Bond is the UK membership body for non-governmental organisations working in international development. MAP works with BOND and its members on collective action to influence the policies and practice of governments and institutions as well as sharing experience and learning with other BOND members. In this way, MAP aims to help strengthen the quality and effectiveness of our work and support to Palestinian communities in the occupied Palestinian territory and Lebanon.
MAP PROGRAMME STEWARDSHIP
We encourage and support partners, community organizations and beneficiaries to report any concerns in relation to the quality and standards of our programmes and interventions.
