Fundraise for the Bedouin Communities

At risk of closure, MAP's mobile clinic urgently needs funds to keep providing vital medical help, advice and support to the Palestinian Bedouin community. MAP is currently working hard to raise funds for the Bedouin appeal and our mobile clinic in the Jordan Valley and needs your support.

Fundraising for MAP should be fun! Whether this is through a non-uniform day at school, setting yourself a personal challenge like competing in a sponsored swim, run or walk, or maybe lending your time and skills to raise money, this should be a fun and rewarding way of helping to make a difference.

The Bedouin community inhabit the Jordan Valley, which is classified as part of 'Area C', meaning that it is under direct Israeli military control. This militarisation has lead to severe movement restrictions on the Bedouin, seriously limited access to food and water, the destruction of homes, infrastructure, and resources such as olive groves necessary for livelihoods. All of this seriously exacerbates the precarious health and well-being of the isolated Bedouin community, already living under harsh conditions.

MAP has been working with the Bedouin communities in the Jordan Valley for over ten years, building a relationship of trust and confidence. The projects that MAP has supported in this area have reached more than 22,000 beneficiaries. The MAP mobile clinic provides an essential service, treating over 500 isolated Palestinians each month. The work of the mobile clinic has seen a huge improvement in maternal and child health care.

For thousands of Bedouin living in the Jordan Valley, the MAP mobile clinic is their only regular medical service. A minimum of £150,000 per year is required to run the mobile clinic and we are in urgent need of more funds with currently only £81,000 raised. Without your support, we will no longer be able to run the mobile clinic and thousands of Palestinians living in desperate conditions will be left without a lifeline.

We can help to promote your event by writing about it in our e-newsletter and putting it on our website. If you would like, we could also send you MAP materials so you can better explain our work to people attending or sponsoring you. Please do get in touch if you need any support or with any questions. With your support, we hope to keep the mobile clinic running and to continue our vital work meeting the health and medical care needs of the Bedouin community.
