You can help a Palestinian child deal with the past, and see a better future

Thousands of Palestinian children have fled the civil war in Syria. These children have witnessed kidnappings, deaths, and the destruction of their homes.  Any sense of security they once had has now been shattered. Many have been left with deep emotional and psychological wounds.

Your gift today could help heal these wounds.

In partnership with UNICEF and Palestinian NGOs, MAP offers calm spaces and play zones for children, to keep them away from the danger and stress of the refugee camps. Specially trained play therapist, psychological support staff and psychologist run sessions for children and teenagers.

For children who are psychologically affected, they are essential to the recovery process. They can release emotions like anger and distress, rather than keep them bottled up.

The project staff also use these sessions to identify those children most affected. They can then be referred for dedicated one-to-one support with specialist therapists. If they have specific issues such as post-traumatic stress, we can arrange extra care and support.

These children have been through so much in their short lives. Without help, they may become increasingly withdrawn and lose hope for the future.

All they want is to return home. But until they can, we need to give them the support they need to cope with an uncertain future.

Please help us reach more children by making a donation today.
