Empowering people with disabilities

We need your help to find £34,162 to meet our target to support the people coping with disabilities in the West Bank, Gaza and Lebanon

MAP sent out an appeal in March to support our Disability programmes across the West Bank, Gaza and Lebanon. So far we have had a wonderful response and would like to thank everyone who has already given so generously, but we still remain short of our £150,000 target. We need to ensure our work supporting and empowering people with disabilities can take place.

We are urgently doing all we can to empower people with disabilities to improve their lives. Our projects mean that families have the chance of a better future.

For every £50 you give, we will be able to provide one more family with home adaptations or fund another family with home visits by a specialist to further improve daily life and gain personal independence for people with disabilities. MAP will also hope to develop a safe playground for the children of all abilities to break down social barriers.

Please give what you can - your help is vital to help the most vulnerable Palestinian people to gain independence and dignity.

Thank you so very much for your kind support and for whatever you can send today.

"Coping with a disability is hard, even in a country like the UK, but to do so while living under occupation or as a refugee can be intolerable." Professor Graham Watt - MAP Trustee

Men, women and children with disabilities in the occupied Palestinian territory and Lebanon are all too often condemned to a life confined to their homes. The occupation compounds their isolation, drastically reducing access to healthcare, schools, services, transport, public spaces or employment and leaving them little opportunity to live life to their full potential.

That is why MAP is urgently doing all we can to empower people with disabilities to improve their lives. MAP projects mean that families have the chance of a better future.

Please donate today to help men, women and children with disabilities access their right to be heard and gain personal independence and dignity.

The recent clashes in East Jerusalem that have been dominating the news have drastically increased closures and restrictions imposed on Palestinians needing to access vital healthcare and services. Heavy Israeli security forces are surrounding the old city, controlling and denying entry to all Palestinians, even to residents of Jerusalem.

Your support can help us to provide these critical services within easy access for the people most in need.
