Lecture Series: Under Fire - Barriers to Health in the Occupied Palestinian Territory
2 October 2009
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is pleased to invite you to attend our lecture series, "Under Fire: Barriers to Health in the Occupied Palestinian Territory."
Following the successful launch of The Lancet series on Health in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, these lectures bring together some of the series' authors, to discuss their key findings, within the broader context of recent developments on the ground. The London event will be chaired by Richard Horton, editor of The Lancet. In Glasgow, the event will be chaired by Pauline McNeill MSP, Convenor of the Cross-Party Group on Palestine.
Over two years since the beginning of a full blockade on the Gaza Strip, and almost nine months after the war on Gaza, the situation continues to deteriorate, long after the cameras have turned away. In the West Bank, the web of movement restrictions continues, making any semblance of normal life an impossibility. Join us to hear how the health of Palestinians is affected by ongoing blockade, conflict and occupation.
